Workshop Theatre I is an introductory theatre class that will help students learn foundational skills in voice and movement, character development, script analysis, and stagecraft. We will study an array of techniques and methods of acting, preparing for a role or an audition, and strengthening stage presence, through a focus on voice, movement, storytelling, and offering meaningful, critical feedback in response to production work. Students will apply these methods to the development of scene work in an authentic production setting. Students will develop a framework for critically analyzing production quality in live theatre, film, and media, while refining their own confidence and collaborative and communicative skills.
